Conservatives must have core principles around which we can unite – here are my 10 propositions.

Labour is in hock to sectional unions. The Tories must become the trade union for the entire country

The British people did not vote to let criminals off scott-free. Far from being “unburdened by doctrine”, Starmer is unburdened from what British people want. We must unite and fight back.

Until now, Sir Keir Starmer has carefully hidden the Labour Party’s radical, hard-Left agenda from the public. But on the brink of the largest majority in nearly a century the mask has slipped.

I not only understand the frustrations of Reform voters, I share them. But a vote for Reform can only deliver a Labour one-party state that increases taxes and immigration. My Telegraph column appeals to heads over hearts to avoid a socialist takeover.

Our leaders should channel Palmerston and ground foreign policy in sovereignty and security. In our generosity abroad we have neglected defence at home. UK foreign policy must be unashamedly grounded in our self-interest. Anything less is a profound failure of public duty.

The British public are still waiting for the highly-selective post-Brexit immigration system they were promised. Reducing net migration to the tens of thousands would be the single biggest thing the Tories could do to win back support.

It’s time to end the disastrous 25 year experiment with mass migration. We must return to the historical norm of net migration in the 10,000s. And only the democratic lock of a cap will consign broken immigration promises to history.

Too many Conservatives seem to see Brexit more as an embarrassing secret than a huge democratic achievement. Conservatives got Brexit across the line. Since then, the UK has grown faster than France, Germany, and Italy, and we’re now the fourth largest exporter. But there are still opportunities to be seized. We have months left of this parliament. Instead of voting on pedicabs and banning smoking, we could be pushing through reforms that would transform our economic model and free us from this low-growth cycle. If Conservatives can’t be bothered to defend our record on Brexit and take full advantage of its freedoms, we will pay a price. Labour will seek to undo Brexit, abandon the gains, and put Britain last.

Delays to the Rwanda Bill continue to run their course. But soon we will enter a period of consequences. The lesson of this saga is that when it comes to safeguarding our security, there can be no half measures.
